1940s TV Sets

During WWII, all manufacturing of tv equipment was banned, and the cathode ray tubes that produced the pictures was redirected to radar and other military uses. After the war, the production and popularity of television took off.The 1940s TV sets didn’t look like today’s televisions. Most had tiny picture screens between 10 and 15 inches wide diagonally, inside large, bulky cabinets. They were only available in black and white.
